Tons of sugar beet

Every year, between 1.3 and 1.7 million tons of sugar beet are harvested from mid-September to the end of December. A large proportion of this beet is transported by rail to the sugar factories in Aarberg and Frauenfeld. TR Trans Rail AG has been Schweizer Zucker AG's national logistics partner since 2019 and ensures that this major project is handled smoothly and punctually - efficiently and in an environmentally friendly manner.

1,300 trains in use

Every harvest season, we move around 1,300 trains to the Aarberg factory, with up to 44 train journeys per day on peak days. With the support of 6 to 7 external partners (including dispatchers and planners) and a team of 45 employees, we ensure a smooth process and reliably transport the sugar beet to the Aarberg sugar factory. To ensure optimum production, we also organize the import traffic from Germany.
