Expansion of the Bern hub for the future of Swiss rail transport.
As the second largest railroad station in Switzerland, Bern is a central hub for national and international traffic. In order to meet the requirements of the future, the station is being extensively modernized.
RBS is building four additional tracks in a new underground station beneath the existing SBB tracks, while SBB is constructing a second underground passageway, the "Unterführung Mitte", to improve passenger flows.
